FOXFINDER

By Dawn King
Directed by Margaret Knapp

October 1 - November 5, 2017

In the not so distant future, the economy is failing, food is scarce and paranoia is in the air. Samuel and Judith Covey live in rural England, maintaining their government-controlled farm – in constant fear of losing it all. After an anonymous tip, William Bloor, a "Foxfinder," arrives to investigate a suspected contamination, threatening to uncover secrets of desire and regret that will change all of their lives forever.

"Dawn King — the author of a disturbingly dystopian dramatic parable that I've not been able to shake from my mind since Monday night — is one of the hottest new names in British playwriting and screenwriting. If you want to see why, then merely climb one set of staircases at the Athenaeum Theatre for the creepily intimate Interrobang Theatre Project production of 'Foxfinder.'

If you like your theater chilling and with enough plot for a few 'Game of Thrones' or 'The Handmaid's Tale'-style twists, then this is your show".

… All the performances are top-notch. The newcomer Olin, with a face like he belongs to 'The Book of Mormon,' is a particular find, but the core of the show really is Fisher, playing a woman who must try and hold everything together in the face of an assault on every aspect of her married life. Alanna Rogers, who plays her friend, Sarah, is also very potent. It's a heck of a staging, really, all just a few feet from your face." – Chris Jones (Chicago Tribune) 3.5 Stars

Nominated for seven Jeff Awards.
